Ep 12 – Olympic Dreams, inspiring through actions

Learning from the past and moving forward

Shane O’Donoghue is my next guest. Shane is an Olympian who has represented Ireland in field hockey at the Rio 2016 Olympic games. He has played nearly 200 games for Ireland and is Ireland’s top goalscorer with over 100 goals.

In this episode we talk about the agony of failing to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo and dealing with the fact that COVID means this heartache will linger until the games are completed.

Shane has lived in Belgium for years playing hockey professionally and it is here where he found how to transfers what he’s learned in team sports to business.

He is a qualified psychologist and has brought a business coaching franchise called Mentally Fit to Ireland. On top of that if you are a sports athlete, artist, musician, the dancer you can head over to his Instagram page @Shane.od and see one of his other initiatives, Train the Brain and pick up some tools and tips to help you reach your potential.

Another very interesting conversation and as always please do share
